Frequently asked questions
Who are these programmes for?
Ambitious players, generally aged 16–23, looking to train in a professional environment. Some programmes are for younger players; competitive official matches are usually for 18+. We'll match the player to what fits.
What happens after I enquire?
We review the player's details, recommend the best-fit official programmes, and — when you're ready — introduce you directly to the club's academy team.
Is there any obligation?
None. Enquiring is free and commits you to nothing — it just gets you tailored recommendations and the information you need to decide.
Which countries can players go to?
Official academy programmes at professional clubs across Europe include Spain, Germany, Portugal, France, England, Italy and many more, as well as college soccer opportunities across North America.
How long do the programmes last?
It varies. Options generally fall into short-term (1–4 weeks), mid-term (1–3 months), half season (4–6 months) and full season (10–12 months). We’ll recommend what suits the player’s goals and situation.
How much do the programmes cost?
It varies by club and length, and clubs set their own fees. We'll give you a clear sense of the range for the options we recommend, and you deal with the club directly on pricing.
Can players continue their education?
Yes — many programmes include schooling, university or language study alongside training, and the North American college route is built around a full degree. We factor education into our recommendations.
Are scholarships available?
They can be. For high-performing players, some programmes and colleges may offer reduced fees or partial-to-full scholarships. It’s assessed case by case — share the player’s level and we’ll advise honestly on what’s realistic.
What about visas and logistics?
Most programmes assist with student visas and the practicalities as part of enrolment — the club handles that directly with you once you’re matched.
Is Clubroad free?
Yes. Our services are completely free to use for players and families.
